About Brandon Boyd:
Brandon Boyd’s life is
one characterized by creativity and self-expression. As a very young boy he
often carried sketchbooks and notepads, and though he was never formally
trained, over the years he has developed that young habit into an inextricable
part of his adult life. In 1991 he began singing and writing lyrics with high
school friends in what would be come the multi-platinum and internationally
recognized rock band, Incubus. Brandon is the author of three books combining
his artwork and creative writing: White Fluffy Clouds (2003), From
the Murks of the Sultry Abyss (2007), and So The Echo (September, 2013).
Timing a new book alongside new
music, he also released Sons of The Sea
in September, a collaboration between he and acclaimed producer Brendan
O’Brien. In the winter of 2014 the group
played sold out shows in LA, NY and The Fillmore in San Francisco. Shifting creative gears in his own unique and
versatile way, Brandon showcased his visual art In Europe for the first time in
March, participating in an exhibition in Zurich followed by book signings and
Q&A’s in Paris and London. This fall he will again travel overseas with his
visual art for a gallery exhibit in Rome and other cities.
About Hennessey + Ingalls:
Since its founding in
1963, Hennessey + Ingalls has grown to fill a unique niche in American
retailing. They are the largest art and architecture bookstore in the
western United States, and probably the largest retail operation in the country
dealing just with books on the visual arts.
A family owned business, founded by Reginald Hennessey as an
outlet for rare and out-of-print architecture books, is now on to
its third generation and is still family-owned and
managed. Hennessey + Ingalls has become a landmark in the visual arts
community. They are pleased to count many of the area's and the country's
leading architectural firms as clients, along with museums, collectors, art
galleries, students, interior designers, graphic design firms, and schools.
They are the primary book supplier to three large academic art libraries in
Southern California, as well as to smaller schools and corporate libraries around
the country. They maintain especially strong and in-depth selections of books
in art and art history, all phases of architecture, photography, interior
design, graphic design, and landscaping. The broadness of the collections and
the knowledge of the staff at Hennessey + Ingalls is an important reason why
top art directors in film, television, and advertising shop with them. In
short, Hennessey + Ingalls has proven itself over the years through the
combination of unequaled stock and most attentive customers service
to be a successful and valued member of the vibrant art, architecture,
